Do you "overcomplicate" things?

Happy Sunday my fellow ADHD creators:

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about simplicity and speed.

If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably found yourself overcomplicating things—optimizing, tweaking, and trying to make things “perfect” instead of just doing the thing.

Here’s what I mean:

3 Times I Overcomplicated Things (And How I Fixed It)

It’s so easy to get stuck in overthinking and overcomplicating things—especially with an ADHD brain. Here are three times I caught myself doing exactly that and how I course-corrected.

🚧 Trying to build a “perfect” platform

  • Trap: I felt rushed to build a brand-new platform for my program, convinced I needed a fresh start.

  • ✅ Fix: I realized the current setup works just fine—Skool + Notion templates already do what I need. No need to reinvent the wheel.

📧 Overcomplicating how to send emails

  • Trap: I spent way too much time brainstorming the “perfect” way to email members, track engagement, and stay organized.

  • ✅ Fix: I remembered that Skool already lets me email everyone with one click. No extra tools, no overcomplication—I just pressed send.

📝 Overthinking a simple weekly update

  • Trap: I overthought my weekly update, debating the format, wording, and details for months.

  • ✅ Fix: Instead of tweaking endlessly, I dictated this email in five minutes while driving with my son. GPT cleaned it up, and boom—done.

💡 The ADHD brain loves to optimize, but execution beats optimization every time.

Where Are You Overcomplicating Things?

Every day, I see entrepreneurs and business owners getting stuck in the same trap:

  • Creating elaborate plans instead of just starting

  • Searching for the perfect tool instead of using what’s already working

  • Spending weeks debating a decision instead of taking action and adjusting as they go

If you recognize yourself in any of this, here’s your challenge for the week:

✅ Where are you adding complexity where simplicity would get you results faster?
✅ What’s one thing you can move forward with—without overthinking it?

Simplicity creates speed. Speed creates momentum. Momentum creates results.

Pick one thing and go execute.

Hit reply and let me know what you’re working on this week—I’d love to hear what you’re simplifying and streamlining.

Let’s make this week about action. 🚀
