"I just don't feel like it"

Our ADHD brains differ, here's what we need.

Hey ADHD Entrepreneur,

Do you ever want to start a project but… you “just don’t feel like it?” Cause members of our community nodded along to this statement in our group coaching call on Wednesday.

Ok, but how do we get over this slump?

I was listening to a podcast yesterday about David Goggins—a beast of a man who actually does have ADHD.

guy looks tough for sure

His story fascinates me because he found his own way to make ADHD work.

  1. He embraced a new identity: suffering as fuel. For him, ADHD's impulsivity and mental chaos weren't problems to solve but energy to channel:

"I'm not the best at anything. But I can out-suffer anybody."

  2. He created extreme structure. Wake at 4am. Run 10 miles. Work. Stretch. Repeat. His routine became medication. Discipline became therapy.

  3. And he rewired his brain, replacing negative self-talk with brutal honesty:
"Who's gonna carry the boats?" and "Stay hard"

But here's the thing: Goggins' approach isn't the ONLY way for ADHD brains.

In fact, for many of us, it's unsustainable.

After 20+ years building businesses with ADHD, I've found a critical truth: most of us need external accountability structures that work WITH our unique brain chemistry.

This is why research shows ADHD-specific coaching leads to a 73% improvement in business performance outcomes.

While Goggins-style discipline works for some, most of us need:

1. Social Leverage (72% more effective) — Our brains prioritize differently when others are counting on us to show up.

2. Structured Commitments — Pre-determined formats eliminate decision fatigue and reduce executive function load.

3. Real-time Feedback — Immediate dopamine hits reinforce positive behaviors—essential for our reward-seeking brains.

This is exactly what we've built into our daily co-working sessions and weekly planning calls in Accountable.

But honestly, I'll be sharing the real working Operating System in next week's free workshop on Thursday, April 17th at 11:00am est

In this 75-minute workshop, I'll show you how to create a system that actually works for your ADHD brain—not against it.

talk soon,

Ian
