systems > struggles?
the age old question
If you’re an entrepreneur with ADHD, you probably don’t struggle with ideas.
You don’t struggle with intelligence.
You don’t even struggle with knowing what to do.
You struggle with doing it consistently.
Not because you’re lazy.
Not because you’re not cut out for business.
But because your brain isn’t wired for linear execution.
Most productivity advice doesn’t work for us.
We get bursts of hyperfocus, then hit walls.
We overcomplicate.
We jump from idea to idea.
We start things, then lose momentum.
And the worst part?
We know what we need to do. But for some reason, we just don’t do it.
Here’s why:
Your brain isn’t built for boring, repetitive execution.
It thrives on novelty, urgency, and immediate rewards.
Which means—if something isn’t exciting, urgent, or instantly gratifying, it gets pushed aside.
The secret to fixing this isn’t more discipline.
It’s not more willpower.
It’s hacking your execution process so your brain actually wants to follow through.
Here’s what works for ADHD entrepreneurs:
✅ Shrink the task until it feels ridiculously easy.
If it feels overwhelming, your brain will delay it. Break it down until it feels laughably simple.
✅ Make execution feel like a game.
Timers, point systems, friendly competitions—your brain loves small wins. Give yourself a way to “score” execution.
✅ Use external accountability, not just self-discipline.
Most people with ADHD struggle to self-regulate. Find a system that keeps you accountable outside of your own head.
✅ Make distractions harder to access.
You don’t have a focus problem. You have a distraction problem. Reduce friction for focus, increase friction for distractions.
✅ Reframe execution as a momentum game, not a motivation game.
You won’t always feel like doing the thing. But if you can just start—even for 2 minutes—you create momentum that carries you through.
I work with ADHD entrepreneurs every day.
I’ve seen what works. I’ve seen what doesn’t.
And I can tell you—if you’ve been struggling with execution, it’s not a you problem.
It’s a system problem.
Your brain just needs the right setup.
Try one of these today and let me know how it goes.
