The Magic of the "Not-To-Do" List
"My to-do list is getting longer, but I’m not making progress!"
^ Common problem among ADHDers.
The misconception?
❌You probably don't need to get better at choosing things to focus on.
✅ You actually need to get better at choosing what to eliminate.
We're wired to:
👉 Say yes to new ideas
👉 Commit to things we don't really wanna do.
👉 Try and learn everything at once.
The trick is to decide what NOT to do.
ASWELL AS the other way round.
My clients LOVE this exercise we do called the "Not to-do list".
We split it into three categories:
1️⃣ Tasks that suck the life out of you (e.g. unnecessary meetings).
2️⃣ Tasks that do not directly contribute to your biggest current business goals/personal goals.
3️⃣ Unhealthy patterns that derail your focus.
Here's an example:
1️⃣ CANCEL unhelpful meeting with Sarah. Send Loom Instead.
2️⃣ REMOVE low-impact tasks from to-do list.
3️⃣ DON'T open Instagram (or other socials) until 7pm tonight.
We like to start small and build up over time.

📍 P.S. as ADHDers, we hate being told what not to do. But what's more important to you? Growing your business, providing for your family, and changing your life? or being scared of the word don't? You choose.
